A correctly dimensioned solar system makes motorhomes, caravans or boats self-sufficient and consists of three components: solar module, solar charge controller and battery.

During the day, electricity consumption is immediately recharged, and at night, reverse discharge of the battery is prevented. The devices are characterized by high operational reliability. High-quality charging technology combined with intelligent microprocessor control ensures precise adherence to charging voltages, currents, and times. The main charging output with IU1oU2 charging characteristic can be optimally adjusted for acid/wet batteries, gel, or AGM/fleece batteries.
With the temperature sensor (recommended accessory) for battery temperature compensation, the charging voltage is automatically increased at low temperatures (winter operation), allowing the weakened battery to be charged better and faster. At summer temperatures, the charging voltage is reduced, thereby decreasing the stress (gassing) on the battery and/or increasing the lifespan of sealed (e.g., gel) batteries. The second charging output has reduced voltage and current and is used for supportive charging and trickle charging of the vehicle's starter battery during long periods of inactivity.


Note: The classic functionality of PWM controllers is becoming less suitable for the sensitive battery management systems of modern LiFePO4 batteries. Therefore, this characteristic is omitted in the new SR charge controllers, and we strongly recommend the use of MPP controllers for charging lithium batteries.
