Votronic MPP360CI Solar Charge Controller up to 360 W

Effective battery charging for motorhomes, caravans, boats, and self-sufficient solar systems!

Votronic "MPP" (Maximum-Power-Point) series solar controllers with "IU1oU2" charging characteristics are connected between the solar panel(s) and battery(ies). With MPP technology, the controller automatically determines the maximum power output (MPP) of the solar modules several times per second. It then transforms the voltage surplus of the solar module into a higher charging current for the battery (achieved through high-frequency switched-mode power supply technology with high efficiency). This increase in charging current ensures shorter charging times and the best possible utilization of the solar system's power. The MPP solar controllers operate fully automatically, are maintenance-free, and offer the following functions:

Features at a glance:

  • MPPT charging (Maximum Power Point Tracking)
  • CI-Bus connection: for displaying all relevant data on a central vehicle display
  • 8 selectable charging characteristics for lead, gel, AGM, and LiFePO4 batteries
  • Two battery charging outputs: Automatic charging of the main supply battery (12V) as well as supplementary charging and trickle charging (max. 1 A) of the vehicle starter battery (Start) with overcharge protection
  • Measurement output for EBL: Enables convenient use of a solar current display built into the electrical block to monitor the solar system
  • AES switching output: Automatically switches refrigerators with "AES" from gas to 12V operation when there is a continuous surplus of solar power.
  • Overcharge protection: Reduces the battery charging current if there is too much solar power and the battery is full, and ensures the highest possible battery charge level by immediate recharging when power is consumed.
  • Parallel/Buffer operation: Compliance with charging regulations even with simultaneous operation of consumers.
  • "IU1oU2" charging characteristic: Defined increase in charging voltage (U1) prevents harmful acid stratification (lead) and ensures equalization charging of individual battery cells (lead and lith.), followed by automatic trickle charging (U2).
  • On-board network filter: Problem-free parallel operation with wind and engine generators, mains chargers, alternators, etc.
  • The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated so that overcharging of the batteries is impossible.
  • Connection for battery temperature sensor: Temperature sensor is absolutely necessary for the lithium characteristic!

Votronic MPP charge controllers are manufactured in Germany and are among the most powerful and reliable charge controllers on the market.
The Votronic MPP series operates on the Maximum Power Point Tracking principle. With MPP technology, the controller automatically determines the maximum power output of the solar modules several times per second. It then transforms the voltage surplus of the solar module into a higher charging current for the battery (achieved through high-frequency switched-mode power supply technology with high efficiency). This increase in charging current ensures shorter charging times and the best possible utilization of the solar system's power.
As an additional feature, the charge controller offers the option of continuously charging the vehicle starter battery with a secondary charging output. Note: A temperature sensor is necessary for charging a lithium-ion battery.
