Especially in cloudy conditions, when light intensity is constantly changing, the super-fast MPPT algorithm improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Conventional MPPTs tend to lock onto a local MPP. However, this may not be the optimal MPP. The innovative algorithm of the SmartSolar device will always maximize energy yield by locking onto the optimal MPP.

Intelligent battery management with the BatteryLife algorithm
The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery's state of charge and slightly increases the load disconnect threshold daily until the bulk voltage is reached.
From this point, the load disconnect threshold is modulated so that the bulk voltage is reached approximately once a week.
The BatteryLife algorithm will extend the battery's operational life compared to conventional battery algorithms that always cycle between "partially charged" and "fully charged" (due to low self-discharge).

Load Output
Overcharging of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output.
The load output disconnects the loads when the battery has discharged to a predefined voltage value. Alternatively, an intelligent battery management algorithm can be selected. The load output is short-circuit proof.
