WATTSTUNDE® 33 Ah battery AGM12-33 12V VRLA AGM battery C20
WATTSTUNDE® AGM Battery 33 Ah with VRLA Technology
A cycle-proof solar battery, perfect for off-grid applications
Solar systems frequently experience cyclical charging and discharging processes, which places a high strain on the energy storage. Wattstunde AGM batteries are an excellent choice because they possess high cycle stability, ensuring a long service life even when used in a photovoltaic system. High robustness (great vibration and tilt resistance) ensures reliable operation even under harsh conditions.
Battery Construction
These are valve-regulated, maintenance-free VRLA batteries. The electrolyte is bound in a fiberglass mat (AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat), so there is practically no gassing. This allows for use in enclosed spaces or in close proximity to people.
Another advantage of AGM technology: Due to its spill-proof nature, the battery can be installed in any position (not just horizontally), guaranteeing maximum installation flexibility. In the event of a malfunction (e.g., connection of a defective charger), the integrated safety valve ensures that gas can escape.
Features at a glance:
- Maintenance-free due to sealed construction
- Long lifespan and high cycle stability
- Robust, spill-proof and leak-proof
- Easy shipping, as it is not hazardous material
- Install upright
- Warranty period: 2 years
Notes on Battery Capacity
The amount of energy that can be drawn from a battery strongly depends on the period over which the battery is discharged. This is represented by the so-called C value. The number after the C describes the discharge duration in hours. The faster the battery is discharged, the smaller the usable amount of energy.
When discharged within 20 hours (C20), 33 Ah are available.
Note
AGM batteries should ideally not be discharged below 50%, which corresponds to a resting voltage of approximately 12.25 V to 12.3 V (at 50% state of charge), to maximize lifespan; deep discharge below 11.8 V should be avoided, as this significantly reduces performance and cycle count. Although some special AGM types (semi-traction) can go up to 70%, 50% is the standard for most applications.
