WATTSTUNDE® 1000W / 2000W 12V sine wave voltage converter WS12/1000NVS

The sine wave voltage converters of the WATTSTUNDE® WS12 series are light, compact and robust. The use of only high-quality components ensures first-class quality and the inverters achieve a continuous output power of 1000 W (2000 W peak load). With the built-in mains priority circuit, your van or motorhome is automatically supplied with power when shore power is available and the inverter switches off completely - this means that the valuable battery capacity is not wasted unnecessarily and the limited 230 V mains voltage lasts longer!

Special features at a glance:

  • Pure sine
  • integrated mains priority circuit
  • 10 A battery charger for lithium batteries
  • Converts 12V to 230V
  • 2 x Schuko socket
  • 2xUSB
  • Manual on/off switch
  • Protection functions against overheating
  • Automatic shutdown if battery capacity is too low (deep discharge protection)
  • Load controlled fan
  • Electricity like at home (alternating current and Schuko socket)

functionality

The solar energy that is generated from solar bags, solar cases and frame modules is so-called direct current. This energy is not suitable for operating certain electrical devices, as these rely exclusively on alternating current and the electronics could otherwise be damaged. Devices that require a 230 V mains voltage include notebooks, electric toothbrushes, coffee machines and many other everyday devices. The sine wave voltage converter (also called an inverter) ensures that direct current (12 V) is converted into alternating current (230 V), which can be used to operate all of your electrical devices that require a 230 V mains voltage.

Pure sine waves

Even if your electrical devices work with alternating current, that doesn't mean that every alternating current is suitable. A distinction is made between modified and pure sine waves: in contrast to inverters with modified sine and square-wave alternating voltages, pure sine waves have the advantage that the current comes without dangerous voltage fluctuations that could damage sensitive electronics. Many electrical devices in the home, workshop or multimedia area therefore require a purely sinusoidal alternating voltage. The alternating current from the voltage converter with a pure sine curve is the same as the current that comes from the domestic socket. All electrical devices without exception can be used safely without restrictions.

Intelligent grid priority switching (NVS)

The built-in mains priority circuit enables the inverter and a 230 V AC alternating current network (e.g. shore power) to operate smoothly in the same circuit. The device automatically switches between the inverter and the 230 V AC network, thus protecting the 230 V output of the inverter from external voltage. It is a priority circuit, so that a preferred power source can be selected using the wiring of your choice. This intelligent device ensures that the limited, valuable battery capacity is not unnecessarily wasted on the 230 V consumers when the 230 V mains voltage is available via the shore power connection on the vehicle.
Any other use not described in the manual may damage this device! In addition, improper use may lead to serious hazards such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. Modifications to the device will void the warranty.

Properties & Features

The integrated LEDs show the operating status so that the status of the device is visible at all times. If the battery capacity is running low, an acoustic signal warns the user so that the load can be switched off in time. If the battery voltage falls below a critical level, the voltage converter switches itself off to prevent the battery from being deeply discharged. The inverter also has a quiet fan integrated which cools the microelectronics so that even large loads can be operated safely. Because the fan is load-controlled, valuable energy is saved, which in turn results in low standby consumption. All cables required for connection are included with the device so that installation can begin immediately. A USB port is also installed at the factory so that cell phones and tablets can be charged directly without an additional power supply.

battery charger

The built-in charger charges batteries with constant current (10A) and constant voltage (12V). This charging process is only for lithium batteries . When you hear the low voltage protection alarm, stop the inverter and let it recharge the battery. When the battery is fully charged, you can use the device again. Please connect the inverter to the mains to charge the battery. The battery operating time depends on the battery capacity (Ah) and the load power (Watt).
