WATTSTUNDE® WS120BL-HVS BLACK LINE shingle solar module 120Wp
Innovative monocrystalline 120 Watt HV solar module with "shingle cell technology"
Whether in a motorhome, garden, or on a boat, WATTSTUNDE® solar modules represent the highest quality and the latest technology. Start your own self-sufficient solar power supply now with certified WATTSTUNDE® solar panels! Conventional solar modules use copper connectors to interconnect individual photovoltaic cells. These thin cell connectors are eliminated with the unique shingle cell solar modules: Instead of individual cells, narrow cell strips are used.
The abbreviation HV stands for “high voltage”
HV modules have more cells than normal modules, which means they can produce high yields even in unfavorable light conditions, allowing MPPT charge controllers to operate optimally with their Maximum Power Point technology. Conventional solar modules only deliver a low voltage in unfavorable diffuse light conditions, which is no longer sufficient to charge the battery. Increasing the cell count and the resulting increase in voltage ensures that the voltage is sufficient to capture the last rays of sunshine, even during periods of low light. Another advantage: while maintaining the same output, increasing the voltage reduces the current load on the cables. The high operating voltage reduces cable losses, allowing smaller cable cross-sections to be used.

New shingle cells - no more cell connectors necessary The mechanical connection with cell connectors is the (thermo)mechanical weak point of conventional solar modules and is no longer required in the BlackLine solar modules.
The cells are nested together like roof shingles: The end of one cell is simply connected to the beginning of the next cell with a special polymer-based adhesive made conductive by metallic particles. This creates a unique parallel structure that enables unhindered energy flow.
This special design reduces the internal resistance of the solar module, thus reducing internal losses and increasing module performance. A space saving of up to 10% is possible because the gaps between the individual cells are eliminated.
No hotspot formation thanks to the new solar cell technology
Many modules on the market frequently experience problems with localized heat buildup. These so-called hotspots are a thing of the past with shingle cell technology! The parallel cell strip connection not only prevents hotspots but also mitigates the shading problem. All of these effects lead to an even longer module lifespan and extremely high reliability.
Thanks to the integrated bypass diodes in the junction box, the module can continue to produce power even in shading or low light conditions.
Simple installation, quick commissioning, and pre-prepared materials make installation a breeze! The modules are encased in a sturdy high-chamber profile frame, promising maximum stability, even under extreme conditions. Thanks to their anti-reflective glass, the modules transmit significantly more light, thus providing higher transmission than other modules. The efficiency of the monocrystalline BLACKLINE solar modules is 20%. The modules are factory-equipped with a cable connection and MC4 connectors to simplify the interconnection of multiple modules.
Further information
In addition to a 12V battery, you also need a charge controller to prevent the current supply and thus overcharging or potentially deep discharging of the battery. This also ensures an optimal charging voltage and provides the necessary reverse current protection at night.
Another common question is how to mount the new solar panel properly. We offer a variety of brackets, mounting systems, and spoilers for mounting on motorhomes, house walls, and many other options.
Of course, we have already put together complete solar kits for a wide range of requirements. These kits include the modules and mounting brackets, as well as all the necessary materials for installation, such as connecting cables, adhesive, sealant, and roof penetrations.
