WAGO Green Range Connecting Clamp with Lever – Series 221-425: Fast, safe, and now more sustainable

Even small changes can make a big difference – that’s why the WAGO Series 221 connecting clamp has been revised. The new Green Range variant is partly made from bio-circular and recycled plastics, thus contributing to the conservation of natural resources. Without compromising on quality and safety, it remains the proven solution for fast, safe, and flexible electrical installations.

With a rated voltage of 450V and a current carrying capacity of up to 32A, the clamp is ideal for a wide range of applications. Thanks to the innovative CAGE CLAMP® technology, conductors can be connected without tools, without the need for pre-treatment or ferrules. The compact dimensions (30 x 8.4 x 18.6 mm) allow for space-saving installation, while the transparent housing ensures quick visual inspection. The clamps in this series have five conductors, meaning five clamping points, and come in a pack of 25.

How does wiring with WAGO clamps work?

WAGO clamps are very small and compact. Due to their extremely small dimensions, they are ideal for confined spaces. This allows the clamps to be installed very conveniently and also creates free space for any expansions. Operation is intuitive, and connecting conductors is simple and quick. The levers can be opened and closed with minimal effort. Thanks to lateral grip recesses, WAGO clamps remain firmly in hand in any situation. The procedure for connecting conductors is as follows:

Strip the desired conductors
Open the WAGO clamp with the lever
Insert the conductors
Close the lever

The transparent housing allows you to continuously check the conductor position. The contact point is gas-tight, ensuring a permanently secure contact between the conductor and the busbar. Two easily accessible test ports (one located in the direction of conductor entry and the other on the opposite side) make testing conditions very comfortable, even when installed. The application is suitable for ambient temperatures of up to 85 °C, and the maximum clamp temperature according to UL standard is 105 °C. WAGO clamps have globally recognized approvals. If you want to disconnect conductors, this is also easily possible. As with insertion, the lever is opened, and the cable is removed.
