WAGO Green Range Connecting Clamp with Lever – Series 221-425: Fast, safe, and now more sustainable
Even small changes can make a big difference – which is why the WAGO Series 221 connecting clamp has been revised. The new Green Range variant is partly made from bio-circular and recycled plastics, contributing to the conservation of natural resources. Without compromising on quality and safety, it remains the proven solution for fast, safe, and flexible electrical installations.
With a rated voltage of 450 V and a current carrying capacity of up to 32 A, the clamp is ideal for various applications. Thanks to the innovative CAGE CLAMP® technology, conductors can be connected without tools, eliminating the need for pre-treatment or ferrules. The compact dimensions (30 x 8.4 x 18.6 mm) allow for space-saving installation, while the transparent housing ensures quick visual inspection. The clamps in this series have five conductors, meaning five clamping points, and come in a pack of 25.

How does wiring work with WAGO clamps?
WAGO clamps are very small and compact. Due to their extremely small dimensions, they are ideal for confined spaces. This allows the clamps to be installed very conveniently and also creates space for possible expansions. Operation is intuitive, and connecting conductors is quick and easy. The levers can be opened and closed with minimal effort. Thanks to side grip recesses, WAGO clamps are always firmly in hand. The procedure for connecting conductors is as follows:
- Strip the desired conductors
- Open the WAGO clamp with the lever
- Insert the conductors
- Close the lever
The transparent housing allows you to continuously check the conductor position. The contact point is gas-tight, ensuring a permanently secure connection of the conductor to the busbar. Two easily accessible test ports (one in the direction of the conductor connection and the other on the opposite side) make testing conditions very convenient even when installed. The application is suitable for ambient temperatures of up to 85 °C, and the maximum terminal temperature according to UL standard is 105°C. WAGO clamps have internationally recognized approvals. If you want to disconnect conductors from each other, this is also easily possible. As with insertion, the lever is opened here and the cable is removed.
Areas of application for WAGO clamps
Connecting cables is one of the most common tasks when connecting electronic devices in the home, expanding campers, or installing solar modules. Since WAGO clamps can connect both stranded and solid conductors, their application possibilities are versatile. In addition, the clamps can be used with any cable cross-section, making them flexible and compatible for any application. Two examples of applications are connecting solar modules to charge controllers or connecting loads to a battery.
