Votronic Battery Computer 200S (LCD remote display) including 200A measuring shunt
Effective battery charging for motorhomes, caravans, boats and self-sufficient solar systems!
How much charge does my onboard battery actually have left? Is the battery really full? Why is energy being drawn from the battery even when the devices are turned off?
The VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer S answers these questions down to the exact percentage (%) and ampere hour (Ah). At the touch of a button, it provides comprehensive information about the current battery charge level, the flowing battery currents, and the battery voltage.
The device is constantly in contact with "its battery" and thus registers and evaluates all battery activity. All charging and discharging currents are meticulously counted, and battery size, self-discharge, battery load, etc. are taken into account using programmed characteristic curves. Even the smallest leakage currents are detected and recorded. The remaining battery capacity is then calculated from the measured values and the battery size. The result is a correct display of the charge level (the remaining capacity, remaining charge) of the on-board battery as a numerical value in ampere hours ("Ah") and as a percentage ("%"), as well as a clear fill level bar, similar to a fuel gauge.
The LCD Battery Computer S is suitable for all battery types (acid, gel, AGM, lithium, adjustable) with 12V and 24V battery voltages. The current battery voltage ("V") and the current battery current ("A") are also available on the display. Discharge currents (consumers) are indicated by a minus sign. Charging currents are also marked with a clearly legible "Charge" symbol. Independently of this, there is another display option for the voltage of a second battery, e.g., for monitoring the vehicle's starter battery.
A plug-in connection cable connects the display completely to a robust precision measuring resistor (shunt), which is connected directly to the negative terminal of the on-board battery and at which the voltages and currents of the battery are recorded.
The following values are measured:
- Battery voltage on-board battery
- Battery voltage starter battery
- Battery current (charging = "+" ; discharging = "-")
- Burden from consumers
- Battery capacity "Ah" (remaining charge in ampere hours)
- Battery capacity "%" (remaining charge in percent)
- Switching output (freely programmable)
- Flashing warning indicator in case of undervoltage or overvoltage

Can I program the battery computer additionally?
The LCD Battery Computer S features a freely programmable switching output for control, monitoring, and warning purposes, for example, to automatically switch loads or issue a warning depending on the on-board battery's charge level (0-100%). On and off switching points can be freely and independently adjusted in percentages, enabling any switching function. These can also be manually overridden at any time by pressing a button. Application example: Automatic battery protection against harmful deep discharge; loads are switched off precisely according to the charge level, e.g., at less than 25% charge.
How is the battery computer connected?
A plug-in cable connects the LCD display to a robust precision shunt resistor, which is connected directly to the negative terminal of the onboard battery and measures the battery voltages and currents. This also includes the switching output for connecting signal generators or powerful switching relays.
Can I use a different shunt?
The display is delivered with a suitable measuring shunt. The devices are designed for the measuring shunts included in the delivery and cannot be used in conjunction with other measuring shunts or interchanged with each other!
