Votronic D+ Simulator Pro - 3067
The D+ Simulator Pro generates the control signal by detecting the vibrations of the running engine. It operates fully automatically and independently of the alternator's charging operation, making it particularly suitable for vehicles with alternator management, such as Euro 6 standard vehicles. With its low power consumption of less than 3mA, it meets the requirements of DIN EN 13976.
If auxiliary consumers are only to be switched on when the engine is running (the alternator is supplying power) or if the on-board battery is to be optimally charged by a charging converter while driving, the D+ contact of the alternator is usually used for control. However, this contact is often not accessible in the vehicle or is no longer present in newer alternators. The VOTRONIC D+ Simulator provides a remedy here. It generates a corresponding signal for a (isolating) relay or a charging converter, voltage-controlled (e.g. from the starter battery). Further applications arise in the control of auxiliary consumers that should only be activated when the battery is sufficiently charged, such as switching on an air conditioner while driving or switching a refrigerator, a cold or warm box to 12 V on-board operation.
In newer vehicles (Euro 6), a voltage-controlled simulation of the D+ signal is often no longer possible due to the energy-optimized alternator controls. This is where the new Votronic D+ Simulator PRO comes into play. It operates independently of the alternator's charging operation, as it generates the signal by detecting the vibrations of the running engine.
Thus, it is suitable for all vehicle types of all model years. To bridge start-stop phases (e.g. at traffic lights) or stop-and-go (e.g. in traffic jams), the new D+ Simulator Pro has an adjustable switch-off delay. In addition, a built-in charging voltage monitor prevents unwanted activation by external vibrations, such as during ferry trips.
