Especially in rescue and emergency vehicles, the reliability of the batteries installed in the vehicle is crucial for the operational readiness of the vehicle. This is particularly true if many continuous consumers place a heavy load on the batteries, if there is insufficient time for recharging due to frequent deployments, or if the charger is inadequately matched to the batteries. To meet the specific requirements of emergency vehicles, the VAC series was developed in cooperation with vehicle and leading battery manufacturers.

The device electronics are protected against moisture and ensure safe operation even with strong temperature fluctuations. Continuous consumers connected to the vehicle's electrical system (radios, charging cradles, etc.) are supplied without affecting the charging process. The integrated charging current distributor automatically supplies the starter battery with full charging current if required. A reporting output can be used to activate the engine immobilizer when the vehicle is connected to the mains.
The devices are supplied with temperature sensor 825 to ensure optimal battery charging. The mounting position is variable; a second device label is included in the scope of delivery for this purpose. Instead of a remote control, a waterproof LED display (see accessories) can be connected to the Remote Control socket, which indicates the operational readiness of the device on the outside of the vehicle.
