Especially for rescue and emergency vehicles, the reliability of the installed batteries is crucial for the vehicle's operational readiness. This is particularly true when many continuous loads put a heavy strain on the batteries, frequent deployments mean there isn't enough time for recharging, or the charger is inadequately matched to the batteries. To meet the specific requirements of emergency vehicles, the VAC series was developed in collaboration with vehicle manufacturers and leading battery manufacturers.

The device's electronics are protected against moisture and ensure reliable operation during strong temperature fluctuations. Continuous loads (radios, charging cradles, etc.) connected to the vehicle's electrical system are supplied without affecting the charging process. The integrated charging current distributor also automatically supplies the starter battery with full charging current if required. A reporting output can be used to activate the engine start interlock when the vehicle is connected to the mains.
The devices are supplied with a temperature sensor 825 to ensure optimal battery charging. The mounting position is variable, thanks to a second device label included in the scope of delivery. Instead of a remote control, a waterproof LED display (see accessories) can be connected to the "Remote Control" port to indicate the device's operational status on the outside of the vehicle.
