Ultra-fast MPPT tracking
The Victron SmartSolar 450/100-Tr MPPT RS is a 48V solar charge controller with a PV input voltage of up to 450VDC and an output current of either 100A. It is used in on-grid and off-grid solar applications where maximum battery charging power is required.

Advanced maximum power point detection in partial shading.
In case of partial shading, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the current-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to adjust to a local MPP, but this may not be the optimal MPP. The innovative algorithm of the SmartSolar device will always maximize energy yield by adjusting to the optimal MPP.

Highlight: Display of data in real time on the smartphone

Built-in Bluetooth Smart: No dongle required
A Bluetooth-enabled smartphone can display a variety of data live. The wireless solution for setting up, monitoring and updating the controller using Apple and Android smartphones, tablets or other devices.
In contrast to the BlueSolar controllers, the Bluetooth interface is already built in, so no additional accessories need to be purchased.

Intelligent battery management with the BatteryLife algorithm
The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery's state of charge and slightly increases the load disconnection threshold every day until the constant voltage is reached. From this point on, the load disconnection threshold is modulated so that the constant voltage is reached approximately once a week.
The BatteryLife algorithm will increase the operating life of the battery compared to conventional battery algorithms that always switch between “partially charged” and “fully charged” (due to low self-discharge)

Display and Bluetooth
The display reads the parameters of the battery and controller. The parameters can be accessed using a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device. Additionally, Bluetooth can be used to set up the system and change settings using VictronConnect.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external measurement of battery voltage, temperature and current via Bluetooth
Using a Smart Battery Sense, a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor or a SmartShunt, battery voltage and temperature (and current, in the case of a BMV 712 or a SmartShunt) can be transmitted to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Recovery function for fully discharged batteries
Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to 0 volts. Will reconnect to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.

Synchronized parallel charging with VE.Can or Bluetooth
With VE.Can up to 25 devices can be synchronized, with Bluetooth up to 10 devices.

VE.Can and VE.Direct connection
For connection to a GX device for system monitoring, data logging and remote firmware updates. VE.Can can connect up to 25 devices in parallel and synchronize their charging.
