Victron battery charger Skylla-i for 24V batteries

Skylla-i (3): three full power outputs for charging 3 battery banks.
The Skylla-i (3) has 3 separate outputs. All outputs can deliver the full rated output current.
The charging voltage can be precisely adjusted to any battery system. The input for the charger is 230 V at 50/60 Hz.
The charging voltage can be measured directly at the battery terminals to compensate for the voltage loss due to cable resistance. An external sensor allows the battery temperature to be measured and the charging voltage to be compensated accordingly.

Less maintenance and aging when the battery is idle: storage mode
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for a 24 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion on the positive plates.
Once a week, the voltage is increased back to the constant voltage threshold to 'refresh' the battery. This creates a kind of equalizing charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation - the two main causes of premature battery failure.

Robust
The epoxy powder-coated aluminum housings with drip protection and stainless steel brackets withstand even the harshest environmental conditions: heat, humidity and salty air. An acrylic coating provides the best possible protection for the circuit boards against corrosion.
Temperature sensors ensure that the power components always operate within the specified limits. In extreme environmental conditions, the output current is automatically reduced if necessary.

Prevent damage from excessive gas development: Battery saver mode
To shorten the charging time, the aim is to achieve the highest possible charging current in combination with a high constant voltage. However, to avoid excessive gassing towards the end of the constant current phase, the Skylla-i limits the speed of the voltage increase after the gassing voltage has been reached.

Suitable for lithium-ion batteries (LiFePo4)
A simple on/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or an open collector optocoupler output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote control port of the charger.
Alternatively, voltage and current can be fully controlled by connecting to the galvanically isolated CAN bus port.

Battery voltage sensor
To compensate for voltage losses caused by cable resistance, the Skylla-i has a voltage sensor in the charging circuit so that the battery always receives the correct charging current.

Use as a power source
Due to the perfectly stabilized output voltage, the Skylla-i can be used as a power source when no batteries or large buffer capacitors are available.
