Victron Shunt 1000 A 50 mV Battery Monitor
The Victron Shunt 1000A - 50mV battery monitor
The shunt is required for current measuring devices with analog or digital display instruments, as these are usually implemented by measuring a very small voltage on a shunt. In the case of the Victron Shunts 1000A - 6000A it is 50mV.
The following applies: the smaller the measuring voltage at the shunts, the smaller the impact on the rest of the system's circuit.
At 50mV, this delivers an excellent value. The shunt is installed in the line with the current to be measured.
The small voltage drop across this resistor is evaluated with a measuring device such as the Victron battery monitor BMV 700 and values such as the current current flow are derived and displayed.
You can find out whether you need a shunt for your display device in the manual for the respective device.
