Innovative Combination Device from Victron: Sine Wave Inverter and 12 V Battery Charger in One!
The Multiplus 12/500/20 from Victron is a device combination of a 12V 430W sine wave inverter and a battery charger. The smartly integrated battery charger provides an impressive 20A, allowing batteries to be charged extremely quickly when shore/grid power is available. The 12V sine wave inverter integrated into the Multiplus transforms the 12V DC current from the battery into 230V AC voltage. Thanks to the true sine wave, the voltage quality is perfectly suitable even for sensitive electronic devices.
Versatile Use
The MultiPlus is a powerful true sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger that uses adaptive charging technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch, all in one compact enclosure. Models are available ranging from 800 VA to 5000 VA per module.
Unique PowerAssist Function
Peak loads often occur only for a limited period. In such a case, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore power or generator power is immediately compensated for by energy from the battery. When the load is reduced, i.e., consumers are switched off, the then sufficiently available energy can be used to charge the batteries.
Uninterruptible AC Power (UPS Function)
In the event of a grid failure or an interruption to shore power or the onboard generator, the Multi's inverter automatically switches on and takes over the supply to connected loads. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed.
Virtually Unlimited Power Through Parallel Connection
Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel for high power demands. Three-phase or split-phase operation is also possible. Please refer to our datasheets for which models are suitable for parallel operation, three-phase, and split-phase operation.
PowerControl – Working with Limited Generator Power, Limited Shore or Grid Power (500VA/800VA).
With the Multi Control remote panel, the maximum grid or generator current that can be drawn can be set. The MultiPlus then takes into account other connected AC loads and only uses the remaining power for charging. This prevents overloading of the generator or shore power connection.
Local Monitoring and Control
Several options are available: Battery Monitor, Multi Control Panel, Ve.Net Blue Power Panel, Color Control Panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).
Remote Monitoring and Control
If systems with a Color Control Panel are connected to Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
Remote Configuration:
Victron Ethernet Remote, Venus GX, and the Color Control Panel. Data can be stored and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.
